Cleric Urges Govt To Support Authors

A book with the title ‘The
World of Transformation’ was yesterday  launched in Port Harcourt with a call on government to encourage authors who devote their time and money to address the issues of society through books.
A clergyman, Rev. Samuel Nwafor while speaking as guest at the book launch said that encouragement of book writers was necessary, considering the impact reading plays in human development.
Rev. Nwafor enjoined humanity to present themselves for sacrifice as Jesus Christ did for the transformation of our lives in the perfect will of God, saying that people should not be carnally minded as it is ungodly.
According to the man of God, the book, ‘The World of Transformation’ is the gospel of Jesus handed down in book form, adding that the book would transform the lives of its readers.
He stressed the need for people to seek God first and not prosperity because according to him, God expects people to live a perfect life and commended the author, Evangelist (Mrs) Chika Nwokedi for the work which she used to send the message from God.
Also speaking, chairman of the occasion, Engr. Lekwauwa Udensi observed that the book, ‘The World of Transformation’ would make a great impact in the readers as well as take them to the next level and stressed the need to support book writers by patronising them.
He noted that most of the problems in the society and families were lack of transformation among people, pointing out that writing a book was not an easy task.
The author, Evangelist (Mrs) Chika Nwokedi said she was inspired by God to embark on the work which she said took her three years to complete, noting that the book would transform people’s lives.
