Association Plans Workshop For Sports Reporters

Kickboxing Association (WKA) says it has concluded plans to organize a one-day workshop for Journalists in Rivers State on October 22 in Port Harcourt.
The representative of the association Sensei Victor Bassey stated this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports at the Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex, Port Harcourt.
He explained that the programme is aimed at educating Journalists on the rules and officiating of the Sports as to enable them carry out their duties in Sports reporting effectively.
“This seminar is organised to equip Journalists with officiating rules of Kickboxing as to enable them give good judgement and result when reporting state and National Competitions.
He noted that in recent times althletes and various state officials have protested on results issue at different levels of kickboxing events saying that, the programme would give Journalists the needed orientation to officiate in any WKA tournament.
According to him the programme is in line with the WKA plan to bring in a neutral body in the association as to check and ascertain authenticity of subsequent kickboxing competiton and to avoid manipulation of results.
