The Udo Eli Cultural Mu
sic clun, a frontline cultural music grooup  in Emohua, headquarters of Emohua Local Government Area (EMOLGA), Rivers State, has released three albums which are already making waves in the market and other social events in Rivers State and beyond.
The albums include “Ele Eze Woji” dedicated to Woji council of chiefs in Port Harcourt City Local Government, ‘Big Daddy of Mgbo royal house of Emohua’ and Thompson O. Thompson” for their selfless services  to the community and growth of Ikwerre cultural music.
Speaking with The Tide Entertainment, recently, the founder and chief vocalist of the cultural music club, Mr Umesor Chinnah a.k.a Obewe said the club which is popularly known as ‘Work and Chop’ is for the promotion of Ikwerre culture through music and to encourage the youths to shun social vices. It also promotes peace, unity and love in Ikwerre clan.
The chief vocalist who started writing and composing music at a very tender age while still in primary school, disclosed that he formed the club in 2001, but their first album was launched in 2004, since then the club has released over 12 albums all of which have recorded commercial success and public acceptance.
He maintained that the popularity of the music particularly among the youths is as a result of the sophisticated traditional and modern instruments used as well as the rich philosophical and educative message it sends across to the listeners, including the entertainment and professional dance steps that appeal to the public.
He however, enumerated some of their challenges such as lack of sponsorship and finance needed to bring them to limelight. He stressed that it is not easy to be gifted with talent, but when the talent is not recognized and promoted it dies premature death. He therefore, appealed to his Ikwerre brothers and sisters to contribute towards the upliftment of the club to achieve greater heights.
