Stakeholder Okays Private Aircraft Registration Procedure

Group of Companies,  Dr Eruani Azipabu, has hailed the Federal Government on the pragmatic steps to reposition the Aviation sector, particularly on the new registration procedure for private aircrafts.
Dr Azipabu who spoke with Aviation correspondents at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, said the process of registering private aircrafts was part of procedure to ensure safety in the Air Transport Industry.
He said  there was no problem with the decision to adequately follow due process by the Ministry of Aviation in certifying  aircrafts coming into the country, noting that the exercise was in the overall interest of Nigeria.
There was really no problem with the decision to register private aircrafts, It was an issue of proper registration and what the Ministry of Aviation called for was a normal thing”, he said.
The  President of Azikel Group, explained that foreign aircraft has a particular period allowed to stay in the country, stressing  that before any aircraft-was brought into the country, the ministry of Aviation must give permission.
According to him, “whatever the Ministry of Aviation did and are still doing is the work of a regulatory  body  and they  are doing that with the best of intentions for safety”, pointing out that aircraft that fly about 47,000ft above sea level is not a joke”.
Dr Azipabu hinted that every thing  about aircraft, is a serious business that requires the ministry to deal with safety of aircraft,  emphassing that they should be encouraged  to monitor the operations  of airlines and aircraft of private persons.
“Whatever, the Ministry of Aviation is doing is normal as a private person I subjected all my aircraft to the  process, the helicopter and the jets, all of them went through the process,” Dr Azibapu stated.
On  the current business climate in the country, the Group President opined that there are  challenges especially  when  investing in a developing country, it cannot  be the same with developed nations especially the insecurity going on in Nigeria.
He commended the  federal government for taking the  bull by the horn in the sale of Independent Power Project (IPP) to II private investors, adding that the exercise would produce prospects for the nation in ensuring regular power supply.
