The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, has assured the commitment of the state government to implement to the fullest, all its policies and programmes for the development of the state.
Mrs Semenitari, who said this during the inauguration of the Okrika chapter of Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) yesterday in Okrika, also said that the people of Okrika would continue to support the present administration in the state.
The commissioner said that the Governor Chibuike Amaechi-led administration was full of positive vision for the state, and prayed God to forgive those fighting the governor, and urged the people of Okirka to resist those whose intention was to destabilise the peace and development that had come to stay in Rivers State.
She also commended the leadership of RIVLEAF for its commitment to defend good governance existing in the state.
The President, Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF), Hon Alex Wele described as false, rumours of misunderstanding between President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Amaechi.
Wele also denounced the posters of the purported presidential ambition of Governor Amaechi circulating in the state, describing it as the handiwork of detractors.
The RIVLEAF president said that Governor Amaechi was confident with Presdient Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, and urged the people to reject the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI) as the group did not mean well for Rivers State.
Chief Nemi Adoki, who chaired the occasion, urged leaders to always think of what they will leave behind for future generations.
Earlier, the Okrika Local Government Council Chairman, Barrister Tamuno Williams had described Governor Amaechi as a credible leader.
