Pillars Want LMC Sanction Overturned
Nigerian champions
Kano Pillars have appealed against the decision of the League Management Company LMC to banish them to Kaduna.
The Mesu Gida were ordered to play their remaining home games at the Ahmedu Bello Stadium in Kaduna after their fans disrupted their Week 31 game against Enyimba.
The League’s organizing body also ordered that the game be replayed from start at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
The media officer of the club, Idris Malikawa, while disclosing that the decision has been appealed against, stated that fans encroachment even though a wrongful act is a normal practice around the world.
He noted that similar occurrences were referees where even manhandled have occurred in other venues, which did not lead to the banishment of the home team.
“Why will they say we should replay the entire game in Lagos,” Malikawa queried.
“What happened in our match was not an issue, our fans invaded the field to celebrate our goal which happens all over the world, and we are not saying it is right.
Malikawa called on the LMC and NFF O & D to review the sanctions and do justice to the Kano State-owned club.
