‘PDP Crisis, Unfortunate’

A former member of the Federal House of Representative ,Hon Lasbry Amadi, has described the current crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as unfortunate and may end the rule of the party in the country.

?Hon Amadi, who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the defunct Action Congress Of Nigeria (ACN) in the last general elections said actions were taken by the party leadership without thinking about the consequences of such actions.

?He condemned the various decisions taken by the party in Rivers State and said that the party had a serious issue to contend with in the future elections.

According to him: ’’What I am seeing today is completely different. A situation where Rivers State continues to give the highest vote to this party and today, the party is treating the state in this manner. I don’t really know whose interest anybody is serving. There is need for us to save this party. There is need for those who have wished this party well to come right now and stop this. Sometimes, we try as much as possible to create problems for ourselves. There are people who will always have sympathy; a situation where sympathizers are more than even the supporters, then, you create problems”. He continued:  ‘’My understanding is that those who are fomenting all these problems, those who are bringing these policies, those who are overheating this system are not helping Mr. President. I see a situation where even Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, will assist Mr. President to achieve his ambition in 2015 far better than those who are now trying as much as possible to ignite and overheat the system in the state. It is high time the party realised this”.

?Hon Amadi, who contested on the ?platform of the ACN to represent Rivers East Senatorial District said it has come to the point where people must be called to order and cautioned, saying,’’ I cannot see any of these ones that can come to say I have contributed this to the party, more than some people that are not even speaking. Some of us have contributed a lot to this party and we love this party. For people coming in yesterday, these are boys of yesterday and they now have access to power and they feel that politics can just be played any how. It is very unfortunate. I wish that it is high time the party at the highest level does something.”

?He urged the president as the leader of the party and country not to allow anybody him to deceive him , adding that the way things are going ,more unfortunate things may happen to the party.

The ex lawmaker suggested that ?the PDP can move forward and come out successfully in ?2015 if the party could settle all its internal problems before the election.
