Monarch Wants ASOPADEC To Assist Communities
The Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), has been urged to assist its host communities in line with the provisions of the law establishing it.
The Eze Oha I of Etitioha-Owaza, HRM Eze Obioma Nworgu, said this in an interview with newsmen in the community recently.
He listed some of his people’s challenges to include irregular power supply, lack of small scale industries, cottage hospital, among others.
Nworgu noted that Efifioha Ipu as an autonomous community in Abia State deserved a special package from ASOPADEC following its contribution in the areas of oil and gas.
The Monarch explained that community with such a giant record in crude oil should be ranked with some international communities as a way of appreciating it.
Meanwhile, the ASOPADEC Chairman, Chief Sam Nworgu, has tasked the Owuza Monarch to remain stead fast and focus on things that can bring development to the area.
He enumerated the dangers in pipeline vandalism, and warned them to avoid such, adding that it was capable of causing hardship to them.
Nworgu, also called on the people to rally and organize their children and wards who are employable, hinting that the commission was planning to announce new employments.
