Man Docked For Attempt To Break Into ATM

Samuel, was arraigned  yesterday before  an Ibadan Chief  Magistrate Court sitting at Iyaganku  for allegedly  attempting  to break into the  Automated Teller Machine (ATM)  of a bank.
The accused  was arraigned on a two-count charge of  breaking in and attempting  to steal.
The  prosecutor, Cpl.  Adegbite Olalekan,  told the court that  Oparinde  broke into the ATM Gallery of  Access Bank  in  Bodija, Ibadan, with intent to steal.
Olalekan  said  Oparinde committed the act in an attempt to source for money to buy instruments for his Disco Jockey trade.
He said Oparinde climbed the  bank’s roof and forced his way into the banking hall  with intent  to steal.
The prosecutor  said in his attempt to open the ATM  from within the banking hall, Oparinde was apprehended by a  security guard.
The  offences, he said, were committed at about 2.30 a.m. on August 3, adding that they contravened sections 414 and 508 and punishable under section 509 of the Criminal Code Cap. 38, Vol. 11, Laws of Oyo State,  2000.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Chief  Magistrate  Ebenezer Idowu  granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Idowu said one of the sureties must be a civil servant on at least Grade Level 08 with three years tax clearance  while the second  must have a reliable identification card.
