Forum Lists Measures For Improved Youth Entrepreneurship

A youth-based organisation, the Patriotic Youths Alert Network, has urged youths in Rivers State to tap into their creative abilities and develop their inherent potentials as a means of promoting enterpreneural growth among themselves.

Chairman of the organisation, Comrade Emmanuel Orgwu gave the charge during an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt recently.

Comrade Orgwu, who is also a public affairs analysts and socio commentator, said the craving for white collar jobs has rendered most youths ineffective, as such jobs are not always available. He said Rivers State was strategically blessed by nature, with a available land for agriculture, and called on youths to tap into the potentials for self growth and development, Orgwu, also called on youths to key into various skill acquisition programmes and apply such skills, noting that there was dignity in labour.

According to him, the organisation had made skills acquisition an integral part of its programmes, to enhance the capacity of Rivers youths in enterprise development.

The chairman, said the body intend to fully domesticate its skill development polices and called for partnership among various stakeholders for maximal benefits. He noted that the world was become globalised and digital, and only the acquisition of function skills can make humans relevant in the productive chain.
