Accident Victim Seeks N50,000 For Eye Surgery

tor Eseli Eze has appealed for financial support from members of the public to enable him undertake a second surgical operation in one of his eyes at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). Thirty –seven year old Pastor Eze, who hails from Egbolom-Okpeden in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State told The Tide that he was involved in an automobile accident in 2008 along the Port Harcourt –Owerri Road, adding that he suffered serious injuries that affected both eyes.
According to him, he was first admitted at the Madonna University Teaching Hospital at Elele and later at Univesity of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) where he had surgery in one of his eyes, adding that doctors at UPTH told him he required second operation to enable him see properly with the other eye.
According to him, the treatment including surgery is estimated to cost N50,000, adding that it also included a medicated glass which costs N10,000. In his word, “UPTH needs N40,000 for the operation while medicated glass is N10,000, making it N50,000”.
He solicited the co-operation and support of public spirited individuals and groups to give assistance to those in need to enable them live normally and contribute their quota to the development of the society rather than become liabilities.
