Women’s Role In Nation-building Very Important – NDIC Boss
The Managing Director of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, has said that Nigerian women had very important role to play in nation building.
Ibrahim made the statement at the corporation’s management interaction with female employees recently in Abuja .
He said the objective of the interaction was to sensitise the participants to the attributes of career role and highlight the role of women in the development of the society.
?”Many contemporary organisations and government are beginning to realise the importance of women in the achievement of certain objectives.
He said “We want to sensitise participants on the attribute of career role and to highlight the role of women in the development of society,’’ he said.
Ibrahim said the meeting would also discuss the role of women in community service, poverty alleviation and sustainability of the environment.
?Ms Angela Adeboye, Managing Partner at Partnerships Management Consultancy and Financial Advisory, urged women to put in their best in whatever they did.
Adeboye advised them to develop a good attitude and work very hard to achieve their goals.
“For women to achieve better position in the society, they must open up to new challenges, stop complaining when given assignments and have a pleasant disposition in whatever they do,’’ she said.
She advised that women should identify good role models, mentor others and defend the causes of other women.
“To compete with the men folk, we must develop good social skills and nurture relationships and discuss interesting things,’’ Adeboye said.
