Woman Docked For Stealing

A thirty-year old woman, Faith Ndidi Weli and her alleged male lover, Igwe Ugo, 33, have appeared before a Port Harcourt Magistrate Court for alleged stealing and other criminal offences.
The accused persons are standing trial on three count charge of conspiracy, stealing and illegal occupation before magistrate C.B. Okokem on charge Number PMC 1590c/2013.
The prosecution told the court that the accused persons in the month of June, 2010 at Rumuagholu in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit: stealing.
The prosecution also said that the accused persons on the same date and place within the jurisdiction of the court stole the sum of one million seven hundred thousand Naira (N,7000,000.), property of one Eze John Kinikawo Ogbondah.
The Police prosecutor further alleged that the accused person (Igwe Ugo) on the same date and place did take one Faith Ndidi Weli out of her matrimonial home and illegally occupied her when her husband is still a live adding that the accused persons committed an offence punishable under section 516 A, 390 (8) (b) and 370 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 11 laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999 and Cap 39 laws of the federation of Nigeria 2004.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty on all the charges brought against them.
The presiding magistrate, C.B. Okokem admitted them to bail with the sum of five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000) each with two sureties who must be civil servants on grade level 8, in addition must produce four passport photographs.
