Utaka Joins Sivasspor In Turkish League

Nigeria international striker, John Utaka has joined Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor on a two-year deal.

The Turkish club has announced their signing of the Nigerian following successful medicals, in a deal believed to be worth about €2,000,000 annually.

After failing to extend his contract at Montpellier with whom he won the French Ligue 1 title in 2012, Utaka was signed on a free transfer by the Yigidos who are coached by former Brazilian full-back Roberto Carlos.

Utaka who started his career as a youngster at Enugu Rangers in 1997, is expected to join his teammates for pre-season camp at the Netherlands before the end of the week.

Sivasspor were the previous employers of another Nigerian striker Michael Eneramo, who was recently snapped up by another Turkish side Besiktas.
