Stand in captain for
Odinga Odinga in sharks FC one-nil loss to Pillars of Kano in week 27 of the Glo Premier League at the Sanni Abacha Stadium ,Jonah Abutu has attributed his team’s loss to the antics of the centre referee, Mohammed Abdulahhi from Borno state.
Abutu said that the centre referee made the game so difficult to the extent that balls that would have gone their way were given to the home side and moves into the vital area of Pillars was ruled offside.
Despite the alleged disgraceful outing by the men in black, Abutu gave kudos to his team mates for putting up a good show.
“The team really played above average because we had a game plan but the referee spoilt what would have been a good match, he did not give us our little advantage and  had he allowed us play our game, we would have made a difference”. Abutu said
“He was just giving them all the advantage throughout the game, balls that were supposed to be ours he will give it to them so all these things really frustrated us, these referees should help us the players to enjoy our game”, he stated. Abutu, however, assured Sharks fans that they will make up for the loss to Kano Pillars with a resounding victory against Wikki Tourists in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
“I assure our fans back home that we are going to beat Wikki with at least two to three goals to make up for our loss to Kano Pillars and on behalf of the players I apologize for our loss even though the match officials made life difficult for us in Kano”, Abutu concluded.
