Sharks Beat Lobi 1-0, Eyes Top Finish
Sharks FC of Port Harcourt may have escaped relegation threats as they beat hard fighting Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi by a lone goal, yesterday at the Sharks Football Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The Blue Angels, as club is fondly called by fans has comprehensively won three straight matches that gave the team commulative nine points.
Sharks FC with yesterday’s victory has climbed to the middle of the log in the Globacom Premier League.
The match was one of the week 26 games played in different unions in the Nigerian League.
No goal was scored in the first half of the match as both teams gave away their chances of scoring opportunities.
The hosts mounted pressure on resumption, but missed early chances.

Shortly after the goal, the visitors sought for the equalizer as they fought tooth and nail, but to no avail.
Speaking shortly after the match, the Chief Coach of Sharks, Daboere Dokubo said that his team has not only escaped relegation, but also chasing the league title.
Dokubo attributed the recent impressive performance by his players to motivation in all ramifications.
“My friends, a goal is a goal, the most important thing is the maximum three points. We have not only escaped relegation, but we are now chasing the league title.
In our current form, we will go to Kano and shock Kano Pillars, because Sharks can swim anywhere now,” Dokubo said.
Also speaking, the coach of Lobi Stars, Evans Ogeyi said that Lobi Stars were undergoing restructuring, adding that his players could not convert their chances.
He claimed that Shark’s goal came through an offside positioning, but that the referee allowed it.
