Land Owners Get N66m Compensation In Katsina
Some owners of land whose properties were acquired by Katsina State government for the construction of Dogon Marke-Kafur Road are to be paid the sum of N66 million as compensation.
Already, the Katsina State Government has released the said sum for the payment of compensation on the road project between Malumfahi and Kafur local Government Areas of the state.
The money is to be paid to 525 people from the two local government areas whose lands were acquired for the construction of Dogon Marke-Kafur Road.
Alhaji Mustapha Maikudi, the State Commissioner for Works and Housing, announced this while issuing cheques to the affected people in Kafur on Thursday.
He said that the 22 Kilometres project was awarded to Borini Prono and is expected to be completed in June 2014.
The Commissioner, who commended the people for their Patience and support the present administration in the state, restated the state government’s commitment the development of the state.
Maikudi also commended the traditional rulers in the areas for their cooperation and support for the project.
He also urged the people who have received the compensation to ensure that they were best use of the money paid to them to better their lives.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Kafur local Government Council, Alhaji Nasiru Kurungafa on his part, thanked the state government for the settling the claims and compensating the people.
