The Forum of Elected Female Local Government Officials in Rivers State has condemned the statements credited to elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark urging Governor Chibuike Amaechi to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) or be expelled from the party.
The group said Chief Clark’s statement does not represent the wishes of Rivers people and the entire South -South region.
According to them, the crisis in the state has threatened peace and democracy and has equally  affected economic activities in the state.
Baring their mind during a press conference in Port Harcourt yesterday, the group’s spokeswoman and Chairperson of Ogu/Bolo Local Government, Hon. Maureen Tamuno flayed anti-democratic elements who desperately wanted to destabilize the Amaechi administration.
They demanded transparency in the country’s democracy while demanding the immediate redeployment of Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu, whom they condemned for compromising his professional responsibilities to support mischief makers who unleashed violence in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The women however expressed unflinching support for Governor Amaechi and appealed to the people of the state to support and encourage him
Specifically, they observed that the governor has impacted so much in health, works and education, arguing that Amaechi has made an unprecedented mark on the governance of the state.
“ The achievements of this administration are numerous and will be difficult to itemize individually without producing an encyclopeadia. This social happiness is not limited to Port Harcourt and its environs but to other parts of Rivers State, and the people have immensely benefitted from the good governance of Governor Amaechi’’.
They also listed the governor’s achievement in agriculture, especially the establishement of Songhai Farm at Bunu Tai, establishment of Banana Farm at Sogho and the completion of Ogoni/Andoni/Opobo Unity.
