Enugu Approves N321m For Infrastructure Dev

Enugu State Executive Council has approved over   N321million for the implementation of various infrastructural developments in some parts of the state.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chuks Ugwoke, while briefing newsmen at the end of the council’s meeting presided over by Governor Sullivan Chime at the Government House, Enugu.

According to him, of this amount, the sum of N1117 million was approved by the council for the electrification of the Park Entertainment and added that the electrification project included the construction of high/medium voltage lines, installation of gantries and switch panel among others. He said that the project would be executed by the State Rural Electrification Board.

The State Information boss also disclosed that over  N17.7million  was approved by the council for the construction of buildings perimeter fence, and renovation works at the Special Education Centre, Oji River through direct labour.

He said that the remaining over N74, 4million  from the among approved for the projects in the school is for the construction of perimeter fence through direct labour, by the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.

Commissioner Ugwoke added that the fence would provide security for the centre and the residents protect the premises from trespassers and encroachment by land speculators and other unauthorised persons.

He also said that the sum of over N38,6 million was equally approved by the council for the tiling and other ancillary works at the Enugu State Judiciary Complex, specifically at the Chief Judge’s Court, Judiciary Complex.
