Eateries Record Increased Patronage As Ramadan Fast Ends
Eateries and drinking joints within the National Theatre Complex, Iganmu, Lagos, are recording increased patronage following an end?to this year’s?Muslim Ramadan fast.
Operators of the eateries and?joints told newsmen in?Lagos that patronage reduced during the one month fast.
Mrs Eunice Alabi, who sells drinks in one of the kiosks provided by the Nigerian Breweries Plc, expressed delight at the increased patronage.
She said that business activities increased since July 8, as people turned out in large numbers to eat and drink to celebrate the Muslim Eid El Fitri.
“We started to witness increase in sales from Thursday, and it has been like that even after the Eid-el-Fitri celebration,” she said.
Mrs Seyi Balogun, who sells food and drinks, told Our source that the declaration of last Thursday and Friday as public holidays contributed to the increased patronage.
Balogun said that many people came to the complex to relax with their families and friends.
She hoped that the boom would continue.
A food seller, who preferred anonymity, said that she ran out of stock during the holidays due to increased sales.
“I was expecting an increase, but I was pleasantly surprised by the large turnout of customers,” he said.
A trader, who identified himself simply as Mr Akin, also expressed optimism that increased sales would continue.
