Dolphins, Sharks set Liberation Stadium On Fire
One of the explosive local derbies of the Globacom Premier League will take centre stage today as Rivers State teams, Dolphins and Sharks Football Clubs clash in one of the week 25 fixtures of the 2013 season.
Venue is the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt, home of Dolphins, who are looking forward to securing a continental ticket via the league route after crashing out of the Federation Cup.
Sharks, on the other hand are looking for away points to aid their efforts to escape relegation threats.
Already, fans of both clubs have been engaged in war of words, boasting that their respective teams would carry the day.
According to chairman of Sharks Supporters Club, Miniaiyo Igani, there is every confidence that Sharks would beat Dolphins today. He said that after the team’s 3-0 win over Gombe United last weekend; it is in top form and ready to take on any opponent
“We are not afraid, the encounter will be an easy one for Sharks as we are convinced that we have what it takes to carry the day, said Igani
But in apparent reaction to Sharks fans position Vice Chairman of Dolphins Supporters Club, Prince Prezi Difa said that Dolphin would not compromise at all in the game, He said the Sharks would have to look elsewhere for salvation and stop hoping on Dolphins.
“Every time Sharks are in trouble, they want us to help, but the truth is that we did not put them in the situation they are in an should not expect us to get them out of it”, he said.
That Dolphins collapsed 3-0 away to Sunshine Stars and need to bounce back is a pointer that it is going to be an all out battle and survival of the fittest between the sister clubs, today.
The encounter promises a lot of enthralling moments and fans are urged to throng the venue to be part of the excitement.
