Club Explains Commitment To Polio Eradication

Rotary Club of Port Harcourt has explained the organisations decision to focus on the eradication of polio as one of its cardinal programmes in Nigeria.

The new Rotary Club of Port Harcourt District 9140 President, Ms Mediline  Tador, said the club was committed to the eradication of the disease as Nigeria remains one of the four countries still suffering from Polio.

Ms Tador who was speaking when she led members of the club on a courtesy visit to the General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporative, Mr Celestine Ogolo said Rotary Club has always been known for its selfless service to humanity especially in its polio eradication campaign.

She said Nigeria can also be a free for polio Nation with the effort of the Rotary Club, and disclosed that the club had carried out water and sanitation project as well as maternal and child care support, Economic Empowerment.

Rotarian Tador said Rotary Club of Port Harcourt District 9140 GRA Foundation is a financially committed charity club that renders service to humanity, while calling on the G/M of the corperation to be a major donor to the club.

Tador, stated that the essence of the visit was to enhance partnership with the media and thanked the General-Manager for his support to the club.

In his response, the General Manager, of the Rivers State Newspaper Corpration, Mr Celestine Ogolo assured of the co-operations  collaboration to ensure the effective reportage of Rotary activities stating that the efforts of the club in providing humanitarian services are remarkable and worthy of acclaim.
