‘Shun Violence, Support Amaechi’s Policy On Poverty Alleviation’
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Titare-Micro-Finance Bank Limited, Barr Josephine A Diete-Spiff, has called on stakeholders and politicians to shun violence and support Governor Chibuike Amaechi policing to alleviate poverty in Rivers State and beyond.
Mrs Diete-Spiff made the call yesterday in an interview with The Tide at the sideline of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Sensitization Workshop Programme organized for rural women across the state in Port Harcourt.
According to her, political violence would only make things worse for the masses, by distracting the vision of the government in developing the state.
She commended the International Labour Organisation for finding it necessary in the face of the political crisis, to train over 400 women across the 23 Local government areas of Rivers State to be come successful enterprenural business women.
Mrs Diete-Spiff, who was a keynote speaker at the programme, tasked the women to make good use of the opportunity to ensure that their economic conditions do not remain the same.
Mrs Diete-Spiff also called on the state government to concentrate on its people-oriented development agenda, despite the crisis rocking the administration.
The wife of the first Governor of old Rivers State, called on both parties in the crisis to resolve their differences amicably, rather than allow the crisis to hinder the sustainable development of the state, saying that both parties in the crisis are brothers and sisters.
