School Rewards Exceptional Students, Staff

Academy, Rukpokwu in Obio / Akpor Local  Government Area of Rivers State celebrated its 9th end of year party and graduation ceremony last Thursday and presented various gifts and awards to its pupils, students and teachers.
Through the gesture, according to the proprietress of the school, Dr (Mrs) Chidinma Dokubo, the school had demonstrated that hard work, dedication to duty and commitment after all pay.
She said the honour done to the pupils, students and teachers of the school was a way to appreciate and motivate them to do more.
Dr. Dokubo thanked the parents and other guests for gracing the occasion, and promised that the school would continue to promote high moral and academic standards.
The Senior Prefect of the school (male),Master Nwafor Bright who also addressed the guests urged the graduating students to exhibit discipline, hardwork, excellence and honesty in their future endeavours, stressing that “it is the experiences you undergo as you embark on the journey of life that count”.
According to him, “it is important to utilise life experiences positively and learn from them.
He asserted that the graduating students had merely started on a path of self discovery going by a Chinese adage that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a step.
While further charging them to set the pace as they move into the larger society, he stressed the need for them to apply the Motto of the school,” Roses Out of Thorns,” saying ,”like the rose flower, you have the capacity to flourish in the midst of harsh environment and intimidating circumstances”.
Among those who received awards and gifts include Jennifer Ogbonna, Best  Student in English Language in the SS2 category, Faith Iwuoha, Best Student in Chemistry, Umbatta Chisom(Mathematics) and Nwafor Bright (Further Maths).
In the SSl category, Jarnel Ejiro emerged the best student in Mathematics, English Language and Further Maths while Uzoma Steven emerged best in Physics and Ogu Esther was the best in the Daycare category.
Miss Ali Johnson bagged the Most Diligent Teacher Award while Mrs Joy Oluchukwu emerged the Best Dressed Teacher and Miss Juliet Nwafor got the Most Punctual Non- Academic Staff Award.
D.C. International Royal Academy was founded in January, 2004 and successfully organised its maiden Inter-House Sports on March 16, 2013.
