NLD Harps On IT Usage
Nigeria League of Democrats (NLDs) says it will use Information Technology (IT), as one of its tools to address some nagging economic and political issues in the country.
The National Co-ordinator of the group, Mr Otumba Banjo Awoniyi, who stated this while inaugurating the South-South zone of the organisation in Port Harcourt, said the idea of using information technology to settle issues became imperative after a careful observation of the world current transformation agenda.
Awoniyi noted that the move will propel the organisation to a higher platform, adding that it will enable them to come top among sister organisations.
According to him, the organisation was using FaceBook, Twitter and other social media services to reach-out to every other audience.
“Since the computer age is in vogue, there is need to make judicious use of the opportunities and use it to excel and develop the country”, he said.
The Tide was informed that the organisation has a reputable IT/ICT with that was also capable of providing employment for the teeming unemployed youths of the country, and a reach-out outfit for the firm.
Sources said that the IT unit of the firm may be used as campaign tools in 2015 general elections.
Meanwhile, the National Co-ordinator said that the group was working to broker peace between President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Chibuike Amaechi.
The State Co-ordinator of the group, Mr Oruwari Soibelemari has commended the group for their seasoned decision to digitalise the political system of the country, as he assured them of his assistance to move the group forward.
