LG Boss Pledges Co-operation With Security Agencies

The chairman of
Uzouwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, Hon. Cornel Onwubuya, has indicated his interest and willingness to partner with the State Police  command and other relevant agencies to make his local government area more secured and safe to attract foreign investors.
Hon. Onwubuya said that  over the weekend at Umulokpa the council headquarters while conducting the State Police commissioner Abubakar Adamu Mohammed round the newly built ultra modern police station and Eight man rank and file quarters built by his Council.
According to him, the police station and the quarters would be formally handed over to the police in due course, adding  that the essence is to help bring police closer to the people, reasoning that absence of security will amount to absence of development in any given area.
He pointed out that with the arrangement on ground, Uzouwani will be having two police stations at Adani and Umulokpa respectively.
In his response, the commissioner of police extolled the quality leadership of the local government chairman whom he described as security conscious chairman.
The state police boss stated that with the development on ground, Umulokpa would  maintain its status as a Divisional Police Headquarters while Adani will maintain an outstation status and thanked the chairman for the gesture.
He, however, used the occasion to appeal to other local government chairmen in the state to tow the line of Hon. Onwubuya, and stated the security of life and property should not be left in the hands of security operatives alone.
