Julius Agwu Billed For PH Book Festival

Rivers State-born Ace comedian and host of Crack your Ribs Annual Comedy show, Julius Agwu is among the guests expected at this year’s Port Harcourt book festival, formally known as Garden City Literary Festival that will take place on the 21st to 26th of October 2013.
The Port Harcourt book festival draws hundreds of literary enthusiasts to the Garden City yearly to participate in this event which comprises a book fair, writers workshops, diverse literary forums, a symposium, drama presentation and other cultural displays.
It will be recalled that Julius Agwu, though a famed comedian, actor and musician has written autobiography to give the public even more insight into his life. Rainbow Book Club (RBC) through its book of the month series highlighted his book,” Jokes Apart, How Did I Get Here” for the month of June. Having made his living in the entertainment, comedy shows, acting, making comedy albums etc.
The comedian celebrated his 40th birthday on April 7, 2013 with a launch of Jokes Apart which documents his life as a child, his coming of age and his realisation of a major gift he has, the ability to make people laugh.
The book, edited by award winning poet and writer, Toni Kan is Jam packed with funny segments in tandem with  sobering parts, readers thus, have a chance to look behind the scenes to better acquainte themselves with the acclaimed funnyman. The Ex-Uniport graduate of Theatre Arts is married with a daughter.
