Host Community Tasks NAOC On Job Creation

The People of Rumuwondugba community in Oroworukwo Town, Rebisi in Port Harcourt local government area of Rivers State, has appealed to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), to engage more of their youths in its employment and other little contract jobs as a way of taming down the tendency for restiveness and other social vices among youths.
The appeal was made by the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Emenike Wami, during the commissioning of Budume street at Rumuwondugba community, Oroworukwo town, built by NAOC and its joint partners recently.
While thanking Agip for their magnanimity, he said that youths should be empowered to enable them focus on meaningful engagement, rather than partake in nefarious activities that would hamper business operations.
In his remarks, the Councilor representing PHALGA Ward 9, Hon. Chike Glory, Wami expressed concern over lateness in the execution of agreements in the memorandum of understanding, noting that often times, agreements reached in the M.O.U take years before execution.
He observed that the present M.O.U has expired and called for a review of the agreement.
The NAOC General Manager, District Massimo Insulla represented by the Public Relation, Communication and Government  Liasion Manager, Prince Nwachuku Obi, said that the project was targeted at easing intra communal movement within the community as well as improving the living standard of the people.
He urged them to maintain the existing cordial relationship between the community and NAOC, as the company would continue to fulfill its part of the social corporate responsibility.
Similarly, a two kilometer road with drains has been commissioned at Akipelai town, in Bayelsa State, by the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) and its joint partners last Thursday.
Speaking, the Bayelsa State Ministry of Environment representative, Ezekiel Adike, commended NAOC for complementing the efforts of government towards the provision of rural infrastructure at the grassroot level.
He urged the community to maintain peace as part of their contribution towards favourable business environment and with a view to attracting more visible projects in the area.
The Deputy Paramount ruler of Akipelai, High Chief Victor K. Igbaba, commended Agip for the gesture, noting that the road would go a long way in boosting accessibility in the area.
