HOS Cup: Min Of Justice Wallops Sports’ Wins Bronze
The Ministry of Justice Football team yesterday at the Sharks FC Stadium, Port Harcourt went goal wire in the third place match of the 2013 Rivers State Civil Service Football Competition.

The match, seen by many as an opportunity by the losing semi finalists to get a medal, especially the Ministry of Justice for the first time in the history of the competition promised so much fireworks. But in the end proved to be a one-sided affair with the Justice ministry ??? down their opponents in their own half for most part of the match.
However, the victors, who had hoped to reach the final and probably win a maiden title, could score only one goal in the first half.
In the second half, the pressure on Ministry of Sports’ defence increased and they could no longer keep their opponents at bay and conceded three more goals.
After the match, Coach of the Ministry of Justice team, Mr King Solomon expressed happiness for earning something, the bronze medal in this year’s competition after setting out to win the title.
He commended his players for their hardwork sacrifice and crowing their efforts with a third place finish.
Also reacting to their match, a member of the Ministry of Sports team, Mr John Iworima blamed poor planning by their ministry for the loss.
According to him, the team failed to reach the height they reached last season because it failed to plan, as, “When you fail to plan, you plan to fail”.
Meanwhile, the final match of the competition holds on Tuesday at the Liberation Stadium between the Ministry of Special Duties and Government House.
Also, the finals of other sports events, 100m, 200m, 4x100m and thug-of=war hold same day during the grand finale of the 2013 civil service week celebrations.
