Group Urges Adherence To Rule Of Law
Rivpeace, a non-governmental organization with its headquarters in Port Harcourt has called on Rivers people to uphold the tenets of rule of law in order to curb the festering political crisis in Rivers State.
The National Co-ordinators of the body, Comrade Success Ekperechi Uju, who stated this at a forum in Port Harcourt at the weekend, noted that no meaningful development could be recorded in an atmosphere of crisis and urged the law enforcement agencies not to shirk that duties.
Comrade Uju warned the gladiators in the festering Rivers crisis that war was not a solution to any problem but told them to toe path of dialogue to move the state forward.
He told all the bad eggs in Nigerian politics particularly Rivers State to retire in order to inject new blood in the system.
The National co-ordinator described peace as a recipe for good governance, socio-economic and political development of any society.
Comrade Uju said his organization would work within the ambit of the law to ensure the resolution of Rivers political imbroglio.
Comrade Uju also called on the state government to make room for youth empowerment and even distribution of social amenities across the state.
He, however, urged all Rivers people to put hands on deck to ensure that the state enjoys peace.
