Government Council chairman in Bayelsa State, Chief Kaku Innocent, has lauded the Federal Government and the Ministry of Aviation for taking pragmatic steps to reposition the nation’s airports to meet international standard.
Chief Innocent who stated this in an interview with The Tide at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, said the remodeling projects at the various airports was a step in the right direction.
He asserted that the completion of the projects would give a facelift to the airports and commended the federal government for extending the transformation agenda to the nation’s Aviation Industry.
According to him, “Passing through the airports, you will see serious work going on and I believe that they will be completed on schedules, and condemned those complaining of delay to see the enormity of work being undertaken.
Chief Innocent who is a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Stalwart said the internal crisis in the party was a normal disagreement that occurs in every setup, noting that the issues at stake would be resolved amicably.
On the crisis rocking Rivers State House of Assembly, the former council chairman exonerated the presidency of any wrong doing in the crisis and advised Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to reiterate reconciliatory moves that would embrace all stakeholders to proffer lasting peace.
“My suggestion is that Rivers people and the governor should begin to talk because you can’t expect Bayelsans to come to Rivers to settle the problem since it is an internal matter,” he said.
He, however, disclosed that a committee has been constituted to intervene and settle the problem to ensure that the state moves forward, adding that no development can take place without peace.
The PDP stalwart boosted that the party have done well and condemned attacks on the leadership of the party by the opposition, while also noting that oppositions criticism puts the ruling party on her toes for effective performance.
