Dana Air Resumes Uyo, Calabar Operations … Offers Ramadan Treat To Passengers

Following the restoration of operational licence to Dana Air after the unfortunate air disaster involving one of its aircrafts by the Federal government, the airline is set to resume operations in Uyo and Calabar.
The re-launching of flight services to Uyo, Akwa Ibom and Calabar, Cross River State by Dana Air adds to Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, routes where it had already commenced  operations.
The Airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Tony Usidamen, disclosed this while speaking with aviation correspondents.
Mr Usidamen said the decision to re-launch operations to both Uyo and Calabar is based on requests from the airline’s teeming customers to extend its services to the oil producing states.
According to him, “since resuming flight operations to Lagos and Abuja in January, we have had many requests from air travelers across the country to extend our services to more cities.”
“The commencement of Port Harcourt operations was in line with the requests and soon, scheduled flights to Uyo and Calabar would begin. At Dana Air, we recognize the importance of Akwa Ibom and Cross River states in the socio-economic development of the country as oil producing states”, the Head of Corporate Communications stated.
Meanwhile, the Management of the Airline said that Muslim passengers on board its aircraft during the Ramadan, would be given a special treatment.
The Media Officer of the airline, Mr Obi Mbanuzuo, disclosed this in a statement made available to aviation correspondents.
“DANA would offer our Muslim guests a special in-flight service throughout the period of Ramadan that began on Wednesday, July 10,”  he said.
Mbanuzuo, who is also the airline’s Head of Commercial, added that Muslim passengers would be served with special fruits on board DANA flights.
“All through the fasting period, we will include special fruits in our in-flight catering due to the numerous health benefits they bring.
“Also, nutritionists advise we break a fast with fruits before having any solid meal.
“We shall encourage our Muslim passengers, who are observing the daytime fasting, to take along their in-flight meals while disembarking, until they are ready to break their fast, “ he said.
The Tide reports that Dana Air first introduced the special Ramadan service in 2009, which was in line with its vision of being Nigeria’s most reliable and customer-friendly airline.
