The Kano State Police Command has warned commuters against patronising illegal motor parks across the state.
The command said in a recent statement issued by its spokesman, Mr Magaji Majia, that such parks were inimical to their personal security.
It warned that illegal motor parks were used as channels of crime by unscrupulous elements in the society.
“Such operators of commercial vehicles take advantage of unsuspecting commuters by drugging and extorting their belongings, kidnapping and subjecting them to other cultic activities,’’ the statement said.
It added that two persons were arrested in connection with such nefarious activity and were helping the policein their investigations.
The statement called on the public to use only government approved motor parks during travels and not to accept rides offered by unknown persons or use odd parks to board vehicles. Our correspondent reports that illegal motor parks were banned by the Kano State Government to protect people from criminals while the government announced approved parks.
