Rivers Angels’ Performance Excites Manager
Team Manager of Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt, Matilda Opuene has expressed satisfaction over the team’s performance against visiting C.I. Angels FC of Agbor in one of the week 13 fixtures played at the Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium last Sunday.
Opune, who stated this in an exclusive intereview with The Tidesports shortly after the match said that her girls have proven themselves to be good players, adding that, Sunday’s match was not an exception.
According to her, three new players featured in Sunday’s game, performed up to expectation, adding that, one of them, Makuachu Oraegbunam, scored the first goal of the match.
I am impressed that the players have all it takes and the technical crew is sound enough to bring laurels for the state and fans,” she said.
She however, advised the players to stay focused, disciplined and acknowledge God in all their dealing, especially in their chosen career, adding that, it is a sure way to success.
The team manager used the opportunity to recite the motto of the club which is “Reverence God.”
She promised that the team would sustain it’s current standard till the end of this season.
Meanwhile the team is set to encounter Bayelsa Queens FC this weekend in the week 14 matches of the on-going 2013 Women Football League, scheduled to hold in Bayelsa State.
