Okorocha Urges Corps Members To Be Self-Reliant
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has urged the 2012 Batch ‘B’ corps members to endeavour to become self-reliant in their future endeavours.
Speaking at the passing out of the 2012 Batch ‘B’ corps members in Owerri on Thursday, Okorocha advised them not to feel dejected as they would face a new phase of life.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, the governor reminded the corps members that responsibilities would now be given to them by the society.
The governor called on them to be extra vigilant and security conscious as they were required to report any unusual movements in their locality to the law enforcement agencies for prompt action. “I now formally disengage you from the NYSC and wish you well in your future endeavours,” he said.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of the scheme, Mrs Chinwe Ojukwu, remarked that some of the corps members contributed immensely to the development of the state.
Ojukwu said that evidences of their achievements abounded in the nooks and crannies of the state.
