Kwali Area Council Pledges To Promote Sports
Vice Chairman of the Kwali Area Council in Abuja, Mr Isaah Garba has promised that youth of the area would be involved in government policies and programmes and also encouraged to participate in local, national and international sports competitions.
Garba made the pledge during the unveiling ceremony of the new logo of the Independent Grassroots Sports Association (IGSA), held in a Government Day School in Gwagwalada Area Council last weekend.
According to a release signed by Chairman, Kwara State chapter of IGSA, Coach Paul Adam Udeh, Hon Garba promised to sponsor the conference of grassroots sports coaches, games masters and the inauguration of the Kwali area chapter next month.
He thanked the leadership of the association for its grassroots driven programmes, adding that the area council would develop and empower youths through sporting activities.
Also, President and Founder of the Independent Grassroots Sports Development Association (IGSA), Prince Miebi Ogunu, appointed Mr Bayour Isaah, as Head, Media and Publicity of the IGSDA.
Mr Bayour is currently the Managing Director of sports pro-hinter outfit of Kwara State.
Dignitaries that attended the programme include, Ojukwu Thompson, Chairman Gwagwalada Coaches Association, Sanda Ahmed, Chairman Gwagwalada Football Association, Chiwuba, Deputy Scretary, Gwagwalada Football Association, Augustine Iwakwe, Radio Nigeria Reporter, Patrick Nguwgu, Nation Reporter, Usman Garba, chairman Abuja chapter and Judith Samuel, Government and Company Relation Officer of Rivers State chapter among others.
