Joint Health Workers Union Continues Strike
In spite of the intervention of the state government to address the issues raised by the Joint Health Workers Union, the union has continued the strike action which commenced on Monday June 24.
According to the secretary of the union, Comrade Chris Mbata, the union would rather continue the strike action over the non proper implementation of the salary structure of its members.
The union’s scribe said the state government had intervened through the commissioner of health to dialogue with the union’s leadership for amicable settlement of the industrial issues raised by the union.
He said there was no concrete agreement reached by both parties on the implementation of the union members salary structures.
The union leader said the union was ever willing to work with the state government to address the plight of the union members.
He called on the government to address the issues raised by the union, necessitating the industrial action.
The union pledged their support to the state government over the giant strides recorded in the health sector.
