Chime Charges Commissioners To Submit Assessment Report
The Governor of Enugu State, Mr. Sullivan Chime has directed Commissioners in the state to henceforth prepare and submit to the office of the Secretary to the State Government an annual performance assessment report of their various ministries.
Governor Chime gave the directive while addressing them at the opening ceremony of Two-Day Mid-Term Retreat for all the State Executive Council Members at Nike Lake Resort Hotels, Enugu.
The Governor whose address was read by the Deputy, Mr. .Sunday Onyebuchi said that the report would help government have a ready database of its activities in all the ministries and also identify new challenges and concerns for prompt attention.
He told the participants that the retreat was designed to provide them the opportunity to review government performances and see whether they were in line with existing plans for action.
Governor Chime said that all the commissioners were expected to present performance reports to enable government determine sector by sector and ministry by ministry where it had excelled and where it had failed to meet the expected targets.
He said that the retreat would further help government identify those factors militating against the actualisation of its objectives by the Ministries, Departments and Agencies and also map out strategies to address them, consolidate on its successes and make amends where necessary.
The Chief of Staff, Government House, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo described the retreat as very timely as it would enable government remain focused in its effort to transform the state and better the lots of the people.
