Chief Of Army Staff Confab Ends In Abakaliki

The Chief of Army Staff Second Quarter Conference which began in Abakaliki on June 3 will end today, June 5, the 82 Division Headquarters of the Nigerian Army, Enugu, said.

A statement signed by the division’s Public Relations Officer, Col. Hamza Gambo, in Enugu on Sunday, stated that the conference was organised by the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Abuja.

“The conference is in line with the Nigerian Army’s annual activities and it will be held at the Staff Development Centre (SDC), Abakaliki.

“The aim of the conference is to appraise the performances of Nigerian Army formations in combating the current security challenges in their respective areas of responsibilities,’’ it said.

The statement said that the conference would also create an opportunity to ascertain the extent of implementation of the decisions reached during the First Quarter Conference within the formations.

“The conference will appropriately recommend ways of enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Army in tackling the present security challenges confronting the country,’’ it added.
