Aspirants To Eze Upata Stool To Know Fate, July 29

As the process leading to the emergence of a new Eze Upata Kingdom in Ahoada East Local Government Area begins to close in, the General Assembly of the Upata People last Saturday elected a seven member electoral committee that would midwife the next occupant of the stool.

The election which adopted the popular Option A4 procedure is headed by a Professor of Gas and Petroleum Engineer of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Dulu Appiah, Mr Samuel Egbe, secretary, Chiefs Okpara Abu, E.U. Obodo, Innocent Ijeoma, James Ezebalike and Gogo Clinton as members.

Presiding Chairman of the Assembly HRH Eze Friday Ezeh, announced that with the progress made in the process, of getting a new king the electoral committee should conduct the actual election that will produce the new Eze Upata lll of Upata Kingdom within three weeks July-29, 2013).

Eze Ezeh noted that the people have totally complied with the laid down procedure for the emergency of a new ruler for the Kingdom which started with the settlement of factions to the unveiling of electoral guidelines and principles.
