Registrar Charges Youths On Peace

The Acting Chief Registrar of the Rivers State Judiciary, Mr Leonard Adoki has enjoined the people of the State especially the youths to pray fervently for peace to reign.
Adoki made  the call receiving a merit award on the conferment of National patron by the United Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (NYSFON) in his office in Port Harcourt recently.
He said the current political empasse in the state would greatly affect the youths, who are the future leaders of tomorrow, adding “let the united prayers of the people of the state touch the hearts of the gladiators for peace to reign.
According to him, some are looking for opportunities such as this to make or mar the state, appealing for the rule of law to prevail for peace to reign.
The Acting Chief Registrar said he feel great for the honour done him as it would spur him to further encourage youth development, peace and co-existence in the state, assuring them of his support at all times.
He however, called on other non governmental organisations to borrow a leaf by encouraging the youths positively so as to prevent them from anti-social vices and youth restiveness.
Earlier, the National President of UYSFON, Chief Godspower Kokoriko extolled the judiciary in the state and enjoined them to uphold the standard as it is the last hope of the common man in the society.
Chief Kokoriko, who described the awardee as a worthy son, said sports is a unifying factor and Nigeria and indeed Rivers State has passion for Sports development, and also highlighted the achievements of the body since it inception as grassroot  supports (football) promoters.
He appealed to government to invest in youth sports by catching them young, disclosing that the under-17 and 20 A.K. Horse-fall male and famle football championship would soon come up, calling for assistance.
The National President said as a sports Philanthropist, Mr Adoki deserved the awares and enjoined him not to recent.
Th would be recalled that the General Oversea of Shama Christian Mission Centre, Bishop Elizabeth Paul Obede was also conferred with such an award recently.
