PDP Chieftain Urges Support For Amaechi

As the crisis in the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepens, a PDP stalwart in the state, Mr. Promise Elemah said that Governor Amaechi deserved the support of everyone in view of his excellent performances in the state.

Addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, Mr. Elemah said that the present tensed situation surrounding  the state is capable of discouraging his successor from developing the state.

He described Governor Amaechi as a God sent leader who has put the interest of Rivers State above personal interest.

Elemah noted that, it is time Rivers people showed love for the Governor.

“If we say we love what the Governor has done in the state and praise God for sending him, at a time like this, lets pay him with support and love at this critical time”, he said.

He stressed the need for people to keep aside their personal interest in the overall interest of the state.

“Rivers people, let put aside our personal interest and work with the Governor. If we love him, lets not betray him”, he said.

Elemah also stressed the need for elders in the state to wade into the crisis as the situation is not portraying the state in good light.

He also appealed to the opposition to sheath their sword and work with the Governor in the overall interest of the state.
