Forget Bori State, Mpigi Tells Ogonis, Others
The House of Representatives member representing Eleme, Tai and Oyigbo Federal Constituency, in Rivers State, Hon Barry Mpigi has told the people of Ogoni and other ethnic nationalities in the Rivers South East Senatorial zone to forget about Bori State as no additional state will be created in Nigeria.
Speaking to journalists during a stakeholders meeting at Saakpenwa, headquarters of Tai Local government Area, Hon Mpigi said that apart from the rigidity of the process involved in state creation, every member of the National Assembly also want a state, adding that lack of census may scuttle the agitation and foreclose state creation in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Hon Mpigi has said that the people of Tai will continue to give their support to the government of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the executive of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of Chief G. U. Ake.
He said that, the local government delegates who participated in the PDP state congress never voted for Chief Felix Obuah, stressing that Chief Obuah himself never participated in the congress, neither did he present himself for election.
According to him, the Tai stakeholders will not support those who they did not vote for, and warned mischief makers to keep off the area in their own interest.
