Eight Nigerians Make CAF Standing Committees

No fewer than eight Nigerians have been appointed into the Standing Committees of the Africa Football Confederation (CAF) for the 2013/2015 soccer season.

A statement on CAF’s website on Tuesday said the appointments were approved by the Executive Committee of the confederation during its meeting in Cairo between May 15 and May 16, following a newly-introduced system of selection.

According to the statement, the President of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Aminu Maigari, was appointed into the Organising Committee for the Orange Africa Cup of Nations.

The association’s 1st Vice-President, Mike Umeh was appointed into the Organising Committee for Inter club competitions.

Another top Nigerian, Emeka Inyama and Chairman of Media and Publicity, was appointment into the Media Committee, while NFA’s Technical Committee Chairman, Christopher Green, was appointed into the Disciplinary Board.

A former NFA President, Sani Lulu, would serve on the Organising Committee for the Africa Nations’ Championship.

Amanze Uchegbulam, a former Vice-President, was appointed into the Appeal Board’s as Vice-President, while Mike Itemuagbor also made it into the Marketing and Television Committee.

The Technical and Development Committee would have Yusuf Ahmed as one of its members.
