COSON Establishes Music Foundation …Appoints Board Of Trustees
Conson has established a music foundation, a big non-profit trust to provide support for artistes in distress and also provide funding for music education.
Chairman of Coson, Chief Tony Okoroji called on all lovers of music and people with interest in Nigerian music to support the foundation.
Meanwhile, an 8 member Board of Trustees have been inaugurated which will be responsible for the prudent management of the funds of the big foundation. The board has juju music maestro Evangelist (Dr) Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi MFR as chairman.
Others include: Prof (Sir) Victor Uwaifo Mon, Erelu Keji Okun Owo, Mr. Edi Lawani, Mr. Toju Ejueyitchie, Dr. Ben Ofaeze, Chief Osita Okeke and a representative of the Nigerian copyright commissioner (NCC).
Speaking after their inauguration, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, said the idea of the music foundation was holde and a right step in the right direction as it will provide necessary resources and leadership and needed to intensify the battle against piracy and other abuse of rights of musicians.
