B’ball League To Spread In Lagos

The Coordinator, Youth Alive Community Basketball League, Gbade Olatona, has said that the Lagos State Basketball Academy has concluded plans to spread the league to all parts of the state.

Olatona told newsmen in Lagos that the league, at present, was limited to players in Yaba community and its environs.

“The league is in its fourth edition, and it is time to spread it to other parts of the state.

“The academy had achieved its aim of discovering talents at the Yaba community and now wants to go further to discover talents in other parts of the state.

“We will take the league to other communities in the state for the discovery of more talents,“ Olatona said.

He said that meanwhile, the league, now in week 15, resumed on Wednesday.

The coordinator said that Amazing Academy would play against Esther Academy in the U-20 female category of the league.

According to him, Esther leads the category with 68 points, while Amazing were on their heels with 64 points.

In the U-20 male category, Adopt-A-Talent will meet Zion Academy.

Warlord Academy would play Del Academy in the U-16 male category, while in the U-20 male category, current table toppers, Raptors Academy would meet Warlord.

In the U-12 category, Del will play against Camp David.

Olatona said that the league, scheduled to end on May 27, was gradually unfolding as the slated matches were expected to be tough and exciting.
