Robbers Burgle The Tide Deputy News Editor’s Residence

Hoodlums suspected to be robbers at the weekend broke into the Port Harcourt residence of the Deputy News Editor of The Tide Newspaper, Dr. Alpheaus Paul-Worika and carted away properties worth thousands of naira.

Some of the valuables carted away include cash, jewelries, studs, wrist watches, car spare keys, international passport, video machine, among others.

Narrating his ordeal to our correspondent, the victim, Dr. Paul-Worika said the family travelled home to spend the weekend at Ogu in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State, only to come back on Sunday and observed that their residence had been burgled and properties scattered all over the bedrooms.

He said the hoodlums got access to the building by using blocks to climb over the fence through an undeveloped plot into their yard.

According to him, the yard, the hoodlums destroyed the burglary proof of the bedroom,  before embarking on the nefarious operations.

He said all their boxes, bags and drawers were ransacked.

The victim said the matter had been reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Borikiri, Port Harcourt for investigation, while the family is still nursing the shock.

When our correspondent visited the residence of the victim, the wife, the children and some sympathisers were seen counting their losses, but gave God the glory for their lives.
