Rivers Indigene Becomes ArchBishop In USA

A Rivers State indigene, Bishop Ebenezer Manuagwu, has been elected as the Acting Arch- Bishop of the Anglican Convocation of the Good Shepherde in United States of America.

Arch Bishop Manuagwu, who hails from Ndashi community in Etche Local Government Areas  was elected as the acting Arch Bishop to succeed Most  Rev. Melvin Pickering.

Addressing newsmen at Okehi, the headquarters of Etche Local Government Area, Sunday, the President of Etche-American Foundation in the United States of America (USA), Dr Chuks Iroegbu, said the elevation of Bishop Manuagwu to Arch Bishop has brought joy to all Nigerians in the United States, adding that Arch Bishop, Ebenezer Manuagwu had served as a Bishop in the area for over ten years.

According to him, the choice of a black man as an ArchBishop did not only give recognition to merit, it was also an indication that the era of discrimination on race was over.

He described Arch Bishop Ebenezer Manuagwu as a God fearing man, who is committed in the work of God and the development of mankind.

The President of Etche –American Foundation urged the new Arch Bishop to maintain the virtues that endeared him to the Christian community in the United States of America. While congratulating him, urged him to use his position to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians in diaspora.
