Rangers Still Have Chance Against Recreativo – Coach

Enugu Rangers coach Okey Emordi has warned against writing off the Flying Antelopes from the CAF Champions League.

Rangers, Nigeria’s last remaining continental representatives, drew 0-0 at home to Angola’s Recreativo Libolo in the first leg of their second round tie, but Emordi insists that the situation is far from irretrievable.

“The fact that we drew the first leg does not mean people should write us off,” Emordi bristled and recalled his time at Enyimba when the club returned triumphant from a similar position.

“We drew 1-1 with another Angolan club, Petro Atletico in Aba and everyone thought we were out. But we went there and beat them to qualify.”

Emordi admitted that while the result was not exactly desriable, his wads had done their best.

“We did our best. It is unfortunate that we did not get the result we wanted, but we will try to do even better in the second leg.”
