Technical Adviser of Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, Gbenga Ogunbote, has assured its management and supporters that the team would finish the ongoing 2012/2013 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season well.

Ogunbote made the pledge in Port Harcourt at a meeting with the club’s key stakeholders.

He said that the club’s technical crew would do its best to ensure they had a respectable finish at the end of the season.

“Let me start by saying a big thank you for a show of maturity, in spite of  not too impressive performance of the team so far this season”.

“You can see that there is a gradual improvement in the team because you have continued to show your support, I am assuring you that we as a technical crew, will surely do our best.

“Relegation is out of the picture because we are duty bound to succeed at the end of the season,’’ he said.

Meanwhile, General Manager of the Club, Chief Okey Kpalukwu, also commended the fans and supporters for their show of support.

He added that the club’s management would recruit tested players to strengthen the team when the transfer window opens.

In the same vein, Chairman of Sharks supporters club, Mr. Minayan Igali, noted that the team gave a good account of itself in their last home match against Kano Pillars.

He said that though the encounter ended goalless, Sharks played well, which was an indication that the team would go places with the hiring of Ogunbote as its technical adviser.

Igali said the supporters club and fans would continue to back the management and the team, to ensure that the club performed well in the ongoing NPFL league.
